Who we are
Dynamic Build Systems is a Stellenbosch-based IT consultancy. Since 2016 we have been changing how information systems for manufacturers are designed, built, licensed and supported.
We bring enterprise-grade IT capability to small and medium-sized manufacturers by reducing the complexity, cost and risk of putting these systems and services in place. That covers the unglamorous foundations (governance, desktops, servers, Microsoft 365, backups) as well as the plant-floor systems that most small manufacturers assume are out of reach: DBS Invenio for the applications that run operations, DynamicPlantMesh for live plant analytics, DBS AMS for inspections, defects and risk, and technology risk assessments.
We deliver enterprise-grade software on-premises or in Microsoft Azure at a fraction of the cost and time of traditional development, and where AI belongs in that software we build it on our own harness, DBS Invenio. Configuration first, code second.
Who is behind DBS
The practice is led by Gert Coetzee, who has spent more than twenty years designing and implementing the systems that run manufacturing operations, from furnace control rooms to plant-wide analytics. DBS Invenio and DynamicPlantMesh are where that work ended up. The binary column in our logo spells the word "dynamic" in ASCII, which is about as far as we let ourselves go with in-jokes.

What we believe
- The system should adapt to the business, not the other way around. We model processes, specifications, resources and products so the data architecture can change without a rebuild.
- Governance is a practical discipline, not paperwork. Policies that nobody can follow protect nobody.
- Small manufacturers deserve enterprise thinking. The same rigour, scaled to what the plant can afford and maintain.
